Brentford’s forward Ivan Toney has reportedly been sent an ultimatum to decide his future. Lately, a negotiation between Brentford and the Saudi Pro League vice-chairman Saad Al-Lazeez has taken place in London. Toney has to decide whether he wants to stay with The Bees or pack his suitcase and fly to Jeddah.
Bees’ representative in that negotiation was the club’s sporting director Michael Emenalo. Both parties have given Toney to respond by the end of Monday to see where he would play for this whole new season.

Toney was also linked with the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal but the rumours turned to dust. Al-Ahli however, appeared to become the only serious suitor for the Northampton-born. He is in the final year of his contract duration with Brentford and leaving the club might be the option.

There has not been any information about Toney extending his contract with Brentford as his wage request is the main issue. The Bees’ manager Frank Thomas admitted that he had no power to control the situation over Toney’s issue.
“Ivan trained the whole week,” Frank said. “Trained with a good attitude in every aspect. He could be involved, he could not be involved.
“I’ve said the whole time that if he’s here I’m very happy, if he’s not here then I’m happy on his behalf. Who knows, let’s see, let’s see what will happen.”
Since his transfer rumours sparked to the surface, Toney has not appeared in any professional leagues or tournaments at the club level. The last time he played professional football was for England in the Euro 2024, taking the team all the way to the final.
