Dutch football giants Ajax are reportedly expressing tangible interest in Jordan Henderson (33), according to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano. The former Liverpool captain currently plays for Al Ettifaq but is reportedly eager to leave the Saudi Arabian club. However, any potential transfer hinges on obtaining permission from Al Ettifaq.
Henderson, who spent several years at Liverpool before making the move to Al Ettifaq last summer, is said to be seeking an exit from his current club. Once he receives the green light to depart, Ajax, as per Romano, is poised to demonstrate concrete interest in acquiring the experienced midfielder.

While Romano suggests that other clubs are also vying for Henderson’s signature, all potential suitors are reportedly awaiting Al Ettifaq’s decision. Henderson is carefully considering his options, with Ajax emerging as one of the potential destinations.
During his time at Liverpool from 2011 to 2023, Henderson enjoyed considerable success, winning the Premier League in 2020, the Champions League in 2019, and the FA Cup in 2022. He was also named the Premier League’s best player in 2020.

Ajax, known for their pursuit of an experienced holding midfielder in the current transfer window, continues their search. Kelvin de Lang, overseeing transfers this winter, addressed the club’s quest for reinforcements during Ajax’s training camp in Cádiz, Spain.
While acknowledging fan expectations, De Lang emphasized a cautious approach, stating,
“You never know, but I don’t expect many changes. We will also not make opportunistic choices in bringing in new players.”
