Early Life
Kimmich began his football journey with a club named VfB Bosingen in 2006 before moving to Vfb Stuttgart a year later. He only played in the club’s youth teams, making almost 60 appearances for Stuttgart U17 and U19.
He then joined RB Leipzig’s youth system in 2013 with his contract containing an option to rebuy for Stuttgart.

RB Leipzig
Joshua Kimmich started at Leipzig in their youth systems and first featured in the third tier of German football – 3. Liga – in September 2013 against SpVgg Unterhaching. He scored in a 3-2 win over Saarbrucken, marking his first professional goal.
He then moved to the senior team and made over 50 appearances in total before joining Bayern Munich for €7 million, signing a five-year deal, in 2015.
Bayern Munich
Joshua Kimmich made his debut for Bayern Munich against FC Nottingen in the DFB-Pokal first round in August. He made his Bundesliga debut next month as a substitute against Augsburg. He then also made his UEFA Champions League debut four days later, featuring against Olympiacos.
He soon became a key player and played the entire 120 minutes in their DFL-Supercup win over Borussia Dortmund in 2016. He scored his first goal for the club in the 2016-17 season, scoring in a 2-0 win over Schalke.
Kimmich then won another DFL Supercup with Bayern as they beat Borussia Dortmund 5-4 on penalties in 2017. He signed a new five-year contract in March 2018, extending his stay at the club until 2023. International Career
Joshua Kimmich made his debut for Germany in a friendly against Slovakia on May 29, 2016. Two days later, he was named in the 23-man squad for the 2016 European Championships. He played as a right-back in the tournament, helping his side reach the semi-finals. He also featured in the Team of the Tournament.
He scored his first goal for Germany in a 3-0 win over Norway in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification in September 2016. He scored a sensational overhead kick in a 1-1 draw in a friendly against Denmark in 2017.
