Jurgen Klopp comments on Premier League title race after Liverpool beat Fulham in London

Liverpool ended their winless league run after beating Fulham at Craven Cottage. Trent Alexander-Arnold inspired his side with the opening goal in the first half. Fulham levelled before half-time after Timothy Castagne slotted the ball in to the bottom-left corner.

In the second half, Ryan Gravenberch retained Liverpool’s lead in the 53rd minute, before Diogo Jota sealed the win for the visitors 19 minutes later. The Reds returned into the second spot and are now sharing 74 points with current table leaders Arsenal.

Jurgen Klopp comments on PL title race

After the game, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said that the title race is not over yet. The German gaffer opted to believe that anything could happen in the next five weeks.

“We want to stay in that race, that’s clear,” Klopp told the BBC. “Arsenal won yesterday, Manchester City will win their game in hand, so we have to win games and that’s what we’ll try [to do].”

Alexander-Arnold also said something that aligned with Klopp, urging that it was important for Liverpool not to lose any more games. The Liverpool academy graduate was also relieved about the result his team earned today.

“[That was] huge,” he said. “At this point of the season, you don’t [always] get the results you want. It was a very important result for us. We saw Arsenal win last night, it was a big one. We need five big ones, five finals.”
