Jurgen Klopp set to return to Anfield sooner than expected

Jurgen Klopp set to return to Anfield sooner than expected for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour

Jurgen Klopp’s nine-year reign in charge of Liverpool ended last Sunday (May 19) but he’ll soon be headed back to Anfield to watch Taylor Swift perform. The German coach bid farewell to the Reds in an emotional address to fans after a 2-0 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers. That said, he won’t be the one holding the microphone next month.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour will arrive on Merseyside in a few weeks and Jurgen Klopp has revealed he and his wife Ulla have tickets. He spoke during a Q&A in the Carlsberg Dugout executive lounge in Anfield’s Main Stand. He confirmed he’d be returning to Liverpool’s stomping ground to see the American singer-songwriter before bellowing out her hit track ‘Shake it Off’, per The Athletic.

Jurgen Klopp was in a signing mood during his farewell address on Sunday as he urged fans to get on board with his replacement Arne Slot. He conjured up a hilarious chant for the Dutch coach who is arriving from Feyenoord this summer:

“Arne Slot la, la, la, la, la, la.”

Taylor Swift is perhaps more lyrical with her songs and she’s a popular figure in Merseyside. A mural of the ‘Cruel Summer’ singer has been unveiled at Phoenix Hotel in Kirkdale as she prepares to arrive for her Eras tour, per liverpool.com.

However, the singer and the German coach share similar mentalities when it comes to excelling in their respective fields. Taylor Swift is a 14-time Grammy winner and one of the most successful music artists in the world.

Jurgen Klopp could venture into a new sport after leaving Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp will go down as one of the greatest managers in Liverpool’s history following an illustrious reign at Anfield. He guided the Reds to seven major trophies, ending the club’s 30-year wait for league glory in 2020 by winning the Premier League. He’s recognized as one of the best tacticians in Europe but could set to step away from football for at least the time being.

The Sun reports that Klopp will start his sabbatical on the Spanish island of Majorca where he owns a villa. He’ll be able to stay out of the public eye and enjoy his downtime with his wife Ulla after nine-and-a-half gruelling years in the Anfield dugout.

Klopp could also turn his hand to a new sport as his £3.5 million villa is located near Mallorca Country Club and he enjoys playing padel which is the merging of squash and tennis. It would be an interesting career choice for the former Borussia Dortmund manager whose announcement that he was set to depart Liverpool shocked the football world in January.
