Kai Havertz reacts to Thomas Muller’s message to him ahead of Arsenal vs Bayern Munich tie

Kai Havertz has responded to Thomas Muller’s comments after Arsenal were drawn against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals. The German admitted that the two sides would have a good clash.

The former Chelsea star took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and posted:

“Will be a good game for sure #YaGunnersYa”

Muller was quick to react after the draw on Friday afternoon and posted a video on X, in which he sent a warning to Havertz. The Bayern Munich star stated that he was waiting to battle with the German teammate on the pitch and said:

“And it’s Arsenal – Kai Havertz, my friend, I am waiting for you. No, it’s a nice draw, two very good teams, two very good stadiums, two very good cities, it will be tough but I am always positive – see you, Gunners!”

Arsenal host Bayern Munich in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League at the Emirates on 9th April. A week later, they travel to Germany for the second leg and face off at the Allianz Arena on 17th April.

Bayern Munich react to drawing Arsenal in Champions League

Bayern Munich posted an article on their official website on Friday afternoon after the UEFA Champions League draw. The German giants were reacting to them getting Arsenal in the quarterfinals with quotes from players and their manager. 

Thomas Tuchel was the first to comment on the Bundesliga side’s site and said:

“We certainly have the most difficult path ahead of us that you can imagine. We now face one of the best teams in Europe. They’ve been playing consistently at the top level for two years. They’re a homogenous, dangerous team, they score a huge number of goals. We’ll be ready, though. We know our qualities.”

Manuel Neuer was also quick to comment and said:

“They’re a very strong team with a very good spirit. They’re currently top of the Premier League for a reason. It’s going to be two hard games, we’ll have to show what we’re all about if we’re to progress. It’s going to be an intriguing clash, we’re looking forward to the assignment and are happy we get to play in these games.”

Eric Dier, who is on loan from Arsenal’s arch-rivals Tottenham, added:

“It’s obviously special for me to return to England for a game so soon after moving to FC Bayern – and to North London, of all places. It’s a great opportunity for us to show our quality at the highest level. Arsenal have a young team who are performing very well.”

The last time Bayern Munich faced Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League, the German side won 10-2 on aggregate.
