Newcastle United suffers a big blow due to Kieran Trippier injury. The England right-back picked up a calf injury in Newcastle’s 3-0 win at home over Wolves last week after he limped off early in the second half when his side were 2-0 up.
Tripper will miss the quarter-final FA Cup clash against Manchester City on March 16 and is expected to be back for West Ham at the end of this month.
Manager Eddie Howe believes the veteran defender will be back after the international break but that’s not guaranteed.
“He obviously felt something in his calf, he had to come off the pitch, that is a concern for us,” Howe said after the Wolves game.
“I don’t know how serious it is at the moment. There is every chance he travels to both games; he is very keen to stay with the group despite the injury. It highlights his leadership qualities.”
Will Kieran Trippier be available for the upcoming England friendlies?
From a Newcastle United perspective, it would be ideal for the club if the defender missed the upcoming England international friendlies to help him return to his full potential at the end of March.

The 33-year-old defender who came close to joining Bayern Munich in the winter could miss the upcoming home friendlies against Brazil and Belgium on March 23 and March 26 respectively.
Trippier has been in blazing form this season registering one goal and 10 assists in the top-flight. With the latest prognosis, it suggests that the defender will not be out for a prolonged period and could make a return after the international break.
