Kosta Nedeljkovic to Aston Villa

Aston Villa Poised to Complete £7.7m Transfer Deal for Kosta Nedeljkovic

In the latest developments in the Premier League transfer market, Aston Villa are on the brink of securing the services of Red Star Belgrade’s highly touted right-back, Kosta Nedeljkovic, in a deal set to kickstart a £7.7 million domino effect within the squad.

Having long identified Nedeljkovic as a prime target and scouted him extensively over the years, Aston Villa are nearing a permanent transfer for the 18-year-old Serbian talent.

While the young prospect is not expected to join Villa immediately, as a loan back to Red Star is part of the agreement, he is anticipated to significantly bolster Villa’s right-back position in the years to come.

Aston Villa Closes in on £7.7 Million Signing, Anticipating Defensive Domino Effect with Kosta Nedeljkovic

According to reputable transfer news specialist Fabrizio Romano, negotiations for the deal are in their final stages, with the agreed-upon amount reportedly falling below €9 million (£7.7 million). Nedeljkovic will complete the season with Red Star before linking up with his new Villa teammates in the upcoming summer.

A regular starter for Red Star in 2023, Nedeljkovic showcased his prowess, notably impressing in the Champions League clash against Manchester City, where he played a key role in keeping former Villa favourite Jack Grealish subdued.

The imminent signing of Nedeljkovic is poised to set off a potential domino effect in Villa’s defensive ranks. Calum Chambers, deemed surplus to requirements by manager Unai Emery, has been given the green light to depart this month.

Emery, not having fully embraced the former Arsenal defender, appears indifferent to his departure as long as the transfer is completed at the right price.

Simultaneously, the recent recall of right-back Kaine Kesler-Hayden from his season-long loan at Plymouth Argyle adds another layer of intrigue.

The 21-year-old could offer immediate cover for Chambers, provided he remains with the squad for the remainder of the campaign. Villa fans are now awaiting the unfolding of these defensive manoeuvres as the club looks to reinforce its lineup for the challenges ahead.
