Kylian Mbappe completes medical ahead of Real Madrid presentation

Kylian Mbappe has completed his move to Real Madrid, completing his medical and presentation on Tuesday, July 16. Los Blancos signed the Frenchman on a free transfer after he left Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) earlier this summer.

The move was announced in June before the UEFA Euro 2024. Mbappe had a disappointing campaign in Germany, where France were eliminated by Spain in the semi-final. The now-Real Madrid forward scored just one penalty and provided one assist in the entire tournament.

Regardless, he arrived in Spain on Tuesday morning, going to the Sanitas clinic in La Moraleja in Madrid for his medical. He posed for some pictures and gave a thumbs-up ahead of the move.

After completing the medical, Kylian Mbappe went to the Santiago Bernabeu for his official presentation. He first signed some documents and got his jersey at the hands of club president Florentino Perez. He then went to the ground for the official presentation.

The Santiago Bernabeu was sold out to witness their new superstar. Real Madrid and France legend Zinedine Zidane was also in attendance as Los Blancos supporters welcomed Mbappe.

Real Madrid has been Kylian Mbappe’s dream club since his childhood. He famously had pictures of Cristiano Ronaldo in Los Blancos’ jersey in his room. He had also pictures of himself in the famous white kit from childhood.

Hence, it was certainly a surreal feeling for him to stand in the Santiago Bernabeu as the new Real Madrid player. He first thanked Florentino Perez at the presentation, saying:

“I want to thank the President, Florentino Pérez, who believed in me from the start. Many things happened, but I want to say thank you.”

He added:

“I’ve always had this dream and I want to thank Madridistas, who have shown me so much love. I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart, it means a lot to me to be here today.”

Kylian Mbappe also shared his ‘new dream’ with the fans, saying:

“Now I have another dream, to achieve, to live up to the expectations and standards of the best club in the world. I will give everything for this club and this badge.”

He also shared an inspirational message for the kids in attendance, saying:

“I see many children here today and I have just one piece of advice. Try as hard as you can to make your dream come true, today I am here but one day it could be one of you.”

Kylian Mbappe will now enjoy a holiday after the Euros and return to pre-season soon. The new La Liga season begins on August 18 for Real Madrid.
