Kylian Mbappe relishing with his new position at Real Madrid this summer

Kylian Mbappe’s New Position at Real Madrid Decided

The 25-year-old forward is expected to leave PSG at the end of this season when his contract with the French club expires. The World Cup winner will reportedly join Real Madrid as a free agent even though an agreement has not been reached between the two parties, the framework is in place.

What will be Kylian Mbappe’s new position at Real Madrid?

Kylian Mbappe is reportedly edging closer to a move to Carlo Ancelotti’s side in the summer, ending the long-standing transfer saga between Real Madrid and the Frenchman.

The former Monaco prodigy spent the last few years on the left side of the attack at PSG, allowing him to have more space and chances to score goals. There were concerns about how Ancelotti would shape the squad once Mbappe joined them in the summer.

It will be impossible to drop Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jnr on his usual left wing, whereas his Brazilian compatriot Rodrygo has gone from strength to strength to cement his position in the starting lineup over the past few seasons.

Upsetting Vinicius just to accommodate Mbappe in the left wing will result in a dispute between both players and is definitely not recommended.

Joselu is the only natural center-forward, who is on loan from Espanyol and Real Madrid doesn’t have a permanent center-forward on their books. It is reported that the club intends to use Mbappe in the centre-forward position solving Carlo Ancelotti’s selection headache.

Real Madrid are in dire need of a center-forward since the departure of legendary Karim Benzema earlier this season. According to the Spanish publication AS, Mbappe has accepted to deploy in the No.9 role, rather than playing on the left side of the attack.

The challenge of playing centrally appeals to the World Cup winner who seems motivated by the possibility of scoring more goals from the centre of the attack.

Mbappe would easily capitalize on the plethora of midfielders behind him, with the likes of Jude Bellingham, Toni Kroos, Eduardo Camavinga, and Aurélien Tchouaméni all feeding him passes into the box.
