The international break is a ‘much dreaded’ time in the football calendar for clubs and fans alike. It often leads to injuries and a break in momentum for the clubs. For La Liga’s big 3, this is a massive concern, as there have been numerous causes for worry. Let’s take a look at the three clubs and their injury status.

Barcelona Injury Update

Barcelona already have existing injury problems which have been worsened by the international break. Ronald Araujo, Frenkie de Jong, Andreas Christensen, and Marc Bernal are all out injured. Gavi and Ansu Fati were also injured but have now joined group training. The situation worsened when Fermin Lopez picked up a muscle injury in his left rectus femoris, which will keep him out for a month.

Atletico Madrid Injury Update

Atletico Madrid, who had a big transfer window, also have a couple of injury issues following the international break. Reinildo suffered a gruesome injury as the defender suffered a shin injury after colliding with the bar during the international break. Spain U21 international Pablo Barrios suffered a muscle tear which will keep him out of several games.

Real Madrid recalled a number of their players from the injury during the international break.
