Jude Bellingham Remains in La Liga Top Scorers List Despite Receiving a Red Card

The La Liga 2023-24 Matchweek 27 is over and Real Madrid continues to lead the standings. They are seven points above second-placed Girona despite their controversial 2-2 draw against Valencia at the Mestalla.

Girona faced an upset as they lost 1-0 against Mallorca at Estadi Mallorca Son Moix while Barcelona held Athletic Bilbao to a goalless draw at the San Mames.

In the relegation zone, meanwhile, Almeria (20th) and Granada (19th) suffered defeats to Celta Vigo and Villarreal respectively. Cadiz (18th) drew against Rayo Vallecano but are still five points away from safety.

There were a number of goals scored in Gameweek 27 of La Liga, with some changes to the scoring charts.

Jude Bellingham | Real Madrid | 16 Goals

Real Madrid’s summer signing Jude Bellingham continues to top the goalscoring charts despite missing a couple of games due to injury. He thought he had added to his tally in stoppage time of their 2-2 draw against Valencia. However, the goal was controversially ruled out by referee Gil Manzano.

Bellingham has scored 16 goals and provided three assists in 22 La Liga games this season.

Borja Mayoral | Getafe | 15 Goals

Borja Mayoral has been excellent for Getafe this season, who sit 11th in the table but his form has dipped in recent times. However, despite scoring just once in his last six appearances, the Spaniard is second in La Liga’s top scorers list.

He has scored 15 goals and provided one assist in 27 games.

Alvaro Morata | Atletico Madrid | 14 Goals

Alvaro Morata scored the winner in Atletico’s 2-1 win over Real Betis to help them consolidate their position in the top four. He has taken his tally to 14 goals and one assist in 24 La Liga games this season.

Ante Budimir | Osasuna | 14 Goals

Budimir has scored four goals in his last four La Liga games and helped Osasuna remain unbeaten in all four as they move to 10th place in the table.

The Croatian striker has now netted 14 goals and provided two assists in 27 league games this season.

Dovbyk started the season well but has been inconsistent in recent times, which has coincided with Girona’s inconsistent form. He scored a hat-trick against Sevilla in Gameweek 22 but hasn’t scored in five La Liga matches since.

His tally for this season stands at 14 goals and five assists in 25 league games.
