Barella extended until June 2029!
Inter Milan have reportedly signed a new deal for their star midfielder Nicolo Barella, who has extended his stay by another five years. The Italian international, whose renewed terms keep him at San Siro until 2029, will also receive a pay raise, said journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Nerazzurri won their second Serie A title in four years following an impressive campaign that saw them finish with 94 points in 38 games. Simone Inzaghi’s side lost only twice all season and the league title comes in addition to their Italian Super Cup triumph earlier into the season.
Barella was an integral part of Inter’s squad, playing all but one game in the league. Now, he’s been rewarded for his heroics with a new three-year deal that will keep him at the club until 2029.
The 27-year-old joined Inter on loan from Cagliari in the 2019-20 season. His eye-catching displays convinced the Serpents to sign him up permanently the following summer.
Not only Barella, but Martinez also extended his contract until 2029. The Argentinian finished as Serie A’s top-scorer this season with 24 goals, becoming a driving force behind their title charge.
Inter Milan continue their trophy spree
Since 2021, Inter Milan have won at least one title every calendar year. It all began with the Scudetto itself, when the Nerazzurri ended Juventus’ long top-flight dominance. There has been no turning back for them thereafter. After Antonio Conte left in 2021, there were speculations that Inter could drop off, but Simone Inzaghi retained his set-up while adding his own dynamism to the side, and continued their trophy spree.
