Lazio - Alessio Romagnoli injury

Serie A club Lazio amidst injury scare during pre-season fixture

Serie A side Lazio faced Serie C club Triestina in a pre-season fixture on Sunday, July 21. Amidst the fixture Lazio’s defender Alessio Romagnoli faced an injury scare. The player had to be substituted just around the 40th-minute mark of the match as he strolled off the pitch.

As per the early reports, Romagnoli might have been facing a concern and seemed in some discomfort on the field because of a likely problem with his adductor muscle. Any further details regarding the defenders’ injury are yet to emerge from Lazio’s hierarchy as of now.

Alessio Romagnoli certainly stands as one of the most important players for the Italian club leading into the new season. So, the club’s hierarchy would be desperate to have him fully fit and mobile as the 204-25 season approaches its start. However, they wouldn’t be willing to take any chances with him and wait for any further updates from the medical team before taking any decision.

In the 2022-23 Serie A season, Romagnoli went on to play 34 matches for Lazio. He further followed it up by making 29 appearances in the previous season. The nine matches he missed in the last season, were due to several different injury issues at specific points in the season. Other than that he made on-field appearances in all the remaining games for that campaign.
