Jamie Vardy’s contract situation: England star ready for last dance in the PL with Leicester City
According to Daily Mail, Leicester City are open to offering Jamie Vardy a contract extension after securing a return to the Premier League. The Foxes are back in the EPL after securing a promotion from the Championship. A 3-0 win over Preston sealed the promotion and Vardy scored a hat-trick in that game.
The veteran striker, in fact, is The Foxes’ highest goalscorer this season, netting 20 goals in 36 appearances. He has scored 18 times in the Championship. Vardy’s current deal, though, ends this summer. As per The Mail, he is in line for an extension and make yet another fairytale run in the English top flight.
Vardy is currently 37, but has still been producing match-winning performances. Given his record in the Premier League, it might be wise for Leicester to keep hold of the veteran. He has a ton of experience in the Premier League, scoring 136 goals and providing 45 assists in 307 appearances. Vardy is held in high regard by Leicester fans and as per GOAL, the club’s supporters plan on giving Vardy a grand tribute during this weekend’s showdown against Blackburn Rovers.

However, Vardy’s form in front of the goal was stellar. The striker scored 24 league goals, including a run where he netted in a Premier League record 11 consecutive matches. Leicester rode on Vardy’s remarkable form and did the unthinkable, winning the Premier League.
While Vardy is now at the tail end of his career, he still possesses sheer quality. He could very well entertain fans with glimpses of his brilliance in the Premier League next season.
