Liverpool’s Huge Victory Over Sparta Prague
The Reds have thrashed Czech side Sparta Prague 6-1 last night at Anfield to win the tie 11-2 on aggregate as they moved to the last eight of the Europa League.
After a dominant 5-1 first-leg showing in the Czech Republic, Liverpool surprisingly named a strong squad against Sparta last night and was well-rewarded as the Merseyside club aim for a quadruple this season.
Darwin Nunez opened the scoring last night in the 7th minute before Bobby Clark netted his first senior goal for the Reds. Mo Salah and Cody Gakpo added two more to Liverpool’s tally to make the game 4-0 inside 15 minutes.
Sparta Prague’s Velko Birmancevic pulled one back right before half time but goals Dominik Szoboszlai and Cody Gakpo completed the rout in the second half.
Jurgen Klopp’s side has eased into the quarter-finals and there are several potential opponents for the Reds but the side will learn about their opponents on Friday, March 15 at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland.

Who can Liverpool be drawn against in the UEFA Europa League quarter-final?
The first leg of the Europa League quarter-final takes place on April 11, with the second leg set to take place on April 18.
At this stage of the competition, there are no restrictions on the draw, meaning clubs from the same country can battle against each other. Liverpool and West Ham are the only two remaining British teams in the Europa League.
