Liverpool FC suffered a disastrous 0-3 loss to Seria A side Atalanta in their first leg of the UEFA Europa League clash at Anfield. The Reds were considered the favourites going into the fixture as their record at the home ground has been mesmerizing lately. But as it turned out the visitors shocked the footballing world and handed the hosts a thumping defeat.
During one of the incidents in the second half, Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp was spotted in extreme frustration lashing at a decision made by his defender Joe Gomez. The Reds considered two goals in the second half, both were due to a major fallout in their defensive attribution. During this scenario, things needed to be slowed down and calm heads were required.
However, Joe Gomez opted to take a shot from about a distance of 25 yards from the opposition’s goal. In the process, he ended up wasting a valuable spell of possession for the home side. Standing on the touchline, Klopp seemed deeply gutted by the decision made by Gomez under the circumstances.
