Liverpool submit bid for Juventus startlet

Liverpool have reportedly submitted a bid to sign Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz. The youngster has impressed during his time with the Bianconeri and has garnered plenty of interest from some big clubs, including the Reds.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are unwilling to sell Yildiz in the ongoing January transfer window. They have, hence, rejected Liverpool’s bid, the price of which hasn’t been revealed.

Yildiz is valued at around €40 million. The 18-year-old can play as a striker, a second striker, and as an attacking midfielder. He joined Juventus’ U19 side from Bayern Munich’s U19 side in 2022. He has since made 11 senior appearances for the Italian giants and scored three goals.

Liverpool sporting director Jorge Schmadtke is reportedly highly impressed with the player and urged the club to send a bid for a potential January transfer. However, Juventus rejected it as it wasn’t satisfactory and they don’t want to part ways with the youngster this month.

RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund had also opened talks with the Bianconeri for Yildiz’s transfer but met with the same resistance.

Liverpool’s bid, however, is surprising given their attacking options and the requirements in other departments. Despite Mohamed Salah being away on international duty, they have Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, Harvey Elliott, and Cody Gakpo.

Regardless, if Yildiz continues to impress, he might garner more attention from the Reds or other clubs in the summer transfer window.
