Luis Suarez will join Messi in his fifth Copa America tournament

Inter Miami striker Luis Suarez has been included in Uruguay’s squad for the Copa America 2024 in the United States. The former Barcelona squad has made it to Marcelo Bielsa’s 26-man squad and will play in the fifth Copa America this June.

Suarez won the Copa America with Uruguay in 2011 and was named the player of the tournament. He is the nation’s leading goalscorer with 68 goals in 138 appearances and will look to extend that record this summer.

The 37-year-old striker has secured 12 goals and five assists in 16 games for the Herons across all competitions.

La Celeste is grouped with hosts United States, Bolivia, and Panama in Group C. Suarez did not participate in the 2015 edition of the tournament as he was suspended for biting Giorgio Chiellini in the 2014 World Cup.

Despite ongoing knee issues with the veteran striker, Suarez will be ready to lead his nation for the fifth time on June 21 in their opener against Panama.
