Manchester United fans have turned up their trolling game a notch ahead of the FA Cup final against Manchester City. City fans placed a ‘cheat’ road sign on the way from Manchester to London. They wrote ‘Junction 115’ in a plate and also used the phrase ‘cheat’.
The sign is a dig at the 115 charges against Manchester City. The Cityzens, despite their recent success, have faced backlash for the FFP charges against them. United fans rarely fail to remind their noisy neighbors about it. They certainly haven’t missed the chance ahead of the FA Cup final.
The clash at Wembley is currently at a goalless stalemate. United beat Coventry on penalties to reach the final while City dumped Chelsea (1-0). The two teams also met in last year’s final with Pep Guardiola’s team winning 2-1.
Erik ten Hag blasts Manchester United’s critics ahead of FA Cup final
Erik ten Hag has come under the scrutiny for Manchester United’s performances this season. The Red Devils secured an eighth-placed finish in the league this term. Ten Hag, however, thinks that other clubs have better squads than United. He said (via GOAL):
“Manchester United won the league for the last time in 2013, 11 years ago. But, still, they expect us to win every game while competing at the top. This club is not ready for that. We were supposed to start building something and we made the first steps last year, but then you find out how big this club is and that nobody is ever satisfied. Within the club people were satisfied, but outside the club there was noise by saying I won only the Carabao Cup, lost the FA Cup Final and finished third. Well, then you have no sense of reality. Other clubs had a much better squad.”
Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United future is uncertain as reports suggest that he will be sacked after the FA Cup final. A defeat could further complicate the manager’s position.
