In a collaborative effort between Manchester United and the Danish national team, an agreement has been struck to carefully manage the workload of young talent Rasmus Hojlund during the current international break.
Rasmus Hojlund Set to Join Denmark Squad with Some Precautions
Denmark manager Kasper Hjulmand disclosed the arrangement as Hojlund joins the national squad for friendlies against Switzerland and the Faroe Islands.
Hojlund, aged 21, recently returned to action after recovering from a muscular issue, featuring in Manchester United’s FA Cup clash against Liverpool last weekend following a four-game absence due to injury. Despite his return, Man United head coach Erik ten Hag remains cautious about overplaying the forward.
“We have an agreement with United about the total amount of playing time in the two matches,” Hjulmand informed reporters. “It does not make sense to smash a player through and increase the risk of an injury that goes beyond our own Euro plans.”
Highlighting the importance of cooperation between the two entities, Hjulmand emphasized that the plan is devised for Hojlund’s benefit as well as the club’s.
“Our staff has put together a plan with Erik ten Hag on how he will get the best build-up after Rasmus’s injury period. It is both for our good and their good,” he added.

Hojlund Debut Season With Man United
Hojlund, who joined Manchester United from Atalanta BC last summer, has made a notable impact in his debut season, tallying 13 goals and two assists in 31 appearances for the club.
His contributions include five goals in the Champions League group stage and a crucial brace in the Premier League fixture against Luton Town.
With seven goals and one assist in 10 caps for Denmark, Hojlund is also a pivotal figure in his country’s plans for the upcoming European Championship. His performance in the qualifiers, where he scored all seven goals, underscores his significance to the team’s aspirations for success in the tournament.
As Hojlund gears up for his international duties, both Manchester United and Denmark prioritize his well-being and fitness, ensuring a balanced approach to his participation in upcoming matches.
