Man United filters out names in case they decide to part ways with Erik ten Hag

The Premier League giants Man United are reportedly keen on reaching an ultimate decision regarding the future of their current Dutch manager Erik ten Hag. Despite the FA Cup final victory over Man City in recent times, the pressure isn’t eased from the Dutch manager. His position as the club’s managerial thorn for the next season still remains up in the air.

According to the well-known publication house – ‘Football365‘, and backed by ESPN Journalist Ogden, the Red Devils could turn up with a decision on ten Hag in this week (tentatively till June 2, Sunday). Regarding United’s decision on whether to keep Erik ten Hag or not, Odgen reportedly quoted – “probably be resolved at some point this week”.

Giving out his thoughts on one of the recent podcasts that he featured on, Ogden stated – “Yeah, Erik ten Hag has known, probably since February, that his position was on the line”. The ESPN Journalist also pointed out that whatever has been churned up in the media regarding United being linked with other managerial personnel, the owners haven’t really discarded them.

Further, Ogden went on to enlist the names who are most likely on the final shortlist of Man United in case they decide to part ways with Erik ten Hag. Managers like – Mauricio Pochettino, Roberto De Zerbi, Thomas Frank, Thomas Tuchel, and Gareth Southgate have been enlisted as the ones eyed by the English club as of now. It remains to be seen what decision the Red Devils’ management will take.

Erik ten Hag’s record at Man United so far

Erik ten Hag has managed to win two titles till now at Manchester United. The Red Devils went on to lift the Carabao Cup trophy in the previous season (of 2022-2023) and the FA Cup trophy in the 2023-2024 season. In his 114 matches in charge of Man United, the 54-year-old manager has a win percentage ranging to about 60.

The Dutch veteran has managed to win 68 out of those 114 games, while he has lost 31, and drawn the remaining 15. He has averaged about 1.92 points per match with the English club so far during his tenure there. It would be fascinating to find out if he gets the chance to manage the club next season as well.
