Manchester United fans are witnessing a positive summer transfer window as the club have secured two big signings ahead of the 2024/25 Premier League season. At first, United have confirmed the signing of Joshua Zirkzee from Italian side Bologna and the fee is understood to be £36.5m (€42.5m).
They also confirmed the signing of young Frech defender Leny Yoro from Lille and reportedly paid £52m for his services. The 18-year-old signed a five-year contract with the Premier League stalwarts.
The club have recouped at least half of the transfer fee with the departure of Mason Greenwood who joined Marseille in a £22m deal. Manchester United still needs to sign a defensive midfielder and one more centre-back before the start of the new Premier League campaign.
Which other players have been linked with Manchester United this summer?
After Bayer Munich rejected United’s €35million bid for Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt on Monday afternoon, United have been linked with three other names – Noussair Mazraoui, Youssouf Fofana, and Vanderson to their wishlist according to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg.
Plettenberg said: “Manchester United and West Ham exploring a deal to sign Noussair #Mazraoui! First concrete talks took place. Mazraoui is at the top of the list for both clubs and he’s keen to play Premier League.
“The 26 y/o right-back can leave FC Bayern now. Originally they demanded €30m. However, the market does not support this amount. Now, Bayern pushing to get €20-25m. The most realistic price: €15-20m all-in. Contract valid until 2026.”
Meanwhile, Monaco are demanding at least €35 million for French midfielder Youssouf Fofana who has less than a year left on his contract. United have also targetted Monaco right-back Vanderson who is considered a direct replacement to Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
