According to 90min, Manchester United are looking to offer a new contract to defender Raphael Varane amidst speculation about his future.
Varane’s current contract with the Red Devils is set to expire in the summer. The club had the option to extend it by a year but they have chosen not to take that option. Instead, they want to offer the Frenchman a new contract with different terms and lower wages.
Manchester United tried the same with goalkeeper David de Gea last summer but the Spaniard declined it and left as a free agent. Varane, however, might be open to considering this deal and staying at Old Trafford.

The former France international was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia following the news of United not extending his contract. Some reports even claimed Real Madrid might look to bring him back on loan after their injury issues.
Varane, 30, recently retired from international football. He has previously expressed his desire to end his club career at one of the three clubs he’s played at – Lens, Real Madrid, Manchester United. Hence, a new contract from the Red Devils could work well for both parties.
The Frenchman has made 80 appearances for the Red Devils since joining them from Real Madrid back in 2021.
