Manchester United Injury Update: Four players close to return
Erik ten Hag spoke to the media in his pre-match press conference and delivered updates on four key players.
As per journalist Fabrizio Romano, ten Hag said,
“Harry Maguire, Rasmus Højlund and Aaron Wan-Bissaka have chances to be back, they are training with the group.
“Mason Mount trained all week with us, he had some full sessions with us, so it’s looking good.”
Maguire last featured in Manchester United’s 2-1 defeat against Fulham, but should be back to face Liverpool. Wan-Bissaka, who last featured in a 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur in January should be back as well.
Meanwhile, Hojlund will be assessed and could be a late addition to the squad to face the Reds. Mount, on the other hand, will be out for a couple more weeks, having missed 21 games through injury so far. Ten Hag is unlikely to rush the Englishman back into action straight away.
The Dutchman ended the Manchester United injury update by speaking about long-term absenteed Tyrell Malacia and Anthony Martial. He revealed the pair will be out for a few more weeks.
