Keiran Trippier

Keiran Trippier Injury – When will the Newcastle full-back return to action?

After a phenomenal 2022/23 season, a lot was expected from Newcastle United, especially after a summer window where the Magpies made more than a few big moves. However, the pressure of playing in four different competitions for the first time in years took a toll on the St James’ Park side. Not only that, Eddie Howe’s side hasn’t been helped by the fact that they’ve been hit with a catalogue of injuries to key stars over the course of the season.

That hasn’t changed, even with less than four months left in the 2023/24 season as Newcastle United are currently without five first-team stars. That includes Matt Targett, Sven Botman, Joelinton, Nick Pope, Callum Wilson and now Kieran Trippier. The English right-back is the latest player to be ruled out through injury although he has been fit for the last seven games.

But after being subbed off just after the half-time whistle against Wolverhampton Wanders, many Newcastle United fans wondered just how long Trippier’s layoff would be. The St James’ Park side sent the 33-year-old for a scan and while initial reports had indicated that the 33-year-old’s calf injury was very serious, that has since been refuted.

TalkSport has since revealed that the right-back will miss the Magpies’ next two games, which include a trip to face Chelsea before an FA Cup quarter-final clash against Manchester City.

Not only that, TalkSport has further reported that Keiran Trippier’s injury also causes problems for Gareth Southgate ahead of international games against Brazil and Belgium. However, the news outlet also added that Newcastle are confident that they’ll have the English international back before the end of March when the Magpies face West Ham United. But despite that news, the club are still taking things slowly as they don’t want to rush the former Tottenham and Atletico Madrid defender.
