Newcastle vs Wolves Preview, Prediction and Betting Tips

Newcastle vs Wolves Preview

Tenth-placed Newcastle United will host ninth-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Saturday, March 2.

Moving forward with the Newcastle vs Wolves Preview, The Magpies enter this contest on the back of a decent run of form. They have recorded two wins, two draws and one defeat in their last five games across competitions. However, most of these games have been goal-fests, with 11 goals scored and 13 goals conceded. Their last outing was a 1-1 draw against Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup 5th Round. However, Newcastle won 4-3 on penalties.

Wolves, on the other hand, will enter this game on the back of a slightly better form. With three wins and two defeats in their last five, they are slight favourites for the next game as well. In this phase, they have scored 10 goals and conceded seven as they look to climb up the table. Their last outing was a narrow 1-0 win against Sheffield United and Wolves will look for more of the same.

That said, let’s take a look at the team news coming out of both camps.

Manager Eddie Howe will be pleased with players who have made their comebacks in the last few days. The shortening injury list now just has four names on it. Long-term absentee Nick Pope is out with a shoulder injury, while Joelinton remains sidelined following a groin surgery.

Defender Matt Target is out nursing a hamstring injury, while Callum Wilson continues his recovery from a chest injury. Sandro Tonali remains suspended for gambling charges.

Meanwhile, Bruno Guimaraes risks a two-game suspension having already been booked nine times this season.

Wolves

Manager Gary O’Neil will have much fewer woes ahead of their next game. Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha is the only injury doubt. He missed Wolves’ win over Sheffield last time out but could return to the bench for the next one.

They have no suspensions to be concerned about.

Newcastle vs Wolves Head-to-Head Record

Newcastle vs Wolves Prediction

Considering the Magpies’ superior record at home against Wolves, they will head into this game as the favourites. However, Wolves have Pedro Neto and Hwang in full flow, while Newcastle have Isak and Gordon in their ranks.

This could be a high-scoring thriller and could end in a draw.

Prediction: Newcastle 2-2 Wolves.
