Next Liverpool Manager: Reds identify top prospect to replace Jurgen Klopp

Amidst rumors of Xabi Alonso taking over as the next Liverpool manager from Klopp, a new top prospect has emerged in Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim.

The Reds identify a top prospect Ruben Amorim to become the next Liverpool manager

With Jurgen Klopp announcing his exit at the end of the season, The Reds have been desperately putting together a list to identify the best prospect as the next Liverpool manager. Several names have slowly emerged and Liverpool FC and Spanish legend Xabi Alonso has emerged as the top priority to replace Klopp. However, with several English clubs looking to avail of Alonso’s services and Bayer Leverkusen not ready to let go of the manager so easily, Liverpool have been forced to explore the market more and have identified an exciting prospect as Alonso’s alternative and top prospect to be the next Liverpool manager.

The prospect is none other than Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese coach has been at the helm of the club since 2020 and boasts an impressive 2.24PPG (Points Per Game) across all competitions for Lisbon. He has also been endorsed as a top manager by Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes. Speaking to a Portuguese news outlet recently, the ex-sporting man praised Amorim greatly. Bruno said, “If he really takes the next step – I hope he stays at Sporting – but if he takes the next step, I think the qualities are all there to be able to succeed in English, French, or Spanish football.”

However, Bruno also pointed out a problem English clubs and Liverpool FC might face while trying to procure the services of the manager.

Ruben Amorim’s whooping release clause at Sporting Lisbon

Speaking on a podcast recently, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed Liverpool’s interest in procuring the signature of Ruben Amorim as the next Liverpool manager. However, he pointed out that it would be a tricky operation considering the massive £26.3m release clause in his contract.

If the Reds consider Amorim as a real alternative to Xabi Alonso as the next Liverpool manager, they will be compelled to break the bank in an attempt to replace Jurgen Klopp. Ruben Amorim’s credentials do certainly speak for him as he led Sporting to their first Liga Portugal trophy in 19 years in his first full season as manager. His Sporting side is also en route to another Liga Portugal title as they lead the league with the business end of the season approaching. Ultimately it depends on Liverpool’s ability to convince the passionate manager to join the project and if the Reds are themselves willing to splurge a huge amount on the gaffer’s release clause.
