Nottingham Forest vs Everton

Nottingham Forest to Receive VAR Audio Recordings Following Defeat by Everton

Over the next several days, Nottingham Forest will receive recordings of the exchanges between VAR Stuart Attwell and referee Anthony Taylor from their PGMOL defeat at Everton.

The audio may be made available to the public when the next Referees Mic’d Up show airs the following week.

PGMOL To Send Recordings for Nottingham Forest Penalty Call against Everton

One of Forest’s three penalty appeals that Taylor chose not to send to VAR, according to Mail Sport, is probably going to be discussed on PGMOL chief Howard Webb and Michael Owen’s analysis of recent Premier League refereeing decisions on next week’s programme.

In a series of remarkable comments released on Monday, Forest demanded that audio recordings of the three incidents be made public.

If this demand is met, the FA may prosecute the club, manager Nuno Espirito Santos, defender Neco Williams, and refereeing consultant Mark Clattenburg.

Despite PGMOL’s dissatisfaction with Forest’s conduct, they have agreed to comply with the club’s request for the audio recordings of conversations between Taylor and Attwell.

This decision aligns with PGMOL’s commitment to greater transparency, a policy introduced last season when Webb assumed his role.

Webb and Owen to Analyze the Situation on Mic’d Up

While there are no immediate plans to release all of the audio publicly, one of the incidents is expected to be discussed on the Mic’d Up program, which features Webb and Owen analyzing controversial incidents.

The next Mic’d Up show, scheduled for recording next Monday and broadcast the following day, will likely shed light on the contentious refereeing decisions during the Forest-Everton clash.

Forest’s frustration stems from being denied three penalties during the match, particularly the third incident involving a foul by Ashley Young on Callum Hudson-Odoi, which Attwell chose not to review.

PGMOL has declined to comment on the matter at this time.
