Manchester City currently have 88 points from 38 matches, two points more than second-placed Arsenal. With a win against West Ham, Pep Guardiola’s side will win their fourth successive title. However, a slip-up would see Arsenal win the title, if Mikel Arteta’s team beat Everton.
Pep Guardiola comments on Manchester City’s game against West Ham
Pep Guardiola has previewed Manchester City’s upcoming game against West Ham United. The Spaniard wants his team to get the job done earlier in the game. However, Guardiola anticipated that it will be a close contest. He said (via Fabrizio Romano on X):
“We’d like to be 3-0 up after 10 minutes vs West Ham… but it will not happen. I have a feeling it will be like Aston Villa in 2022. We are ready. My players will never give up,”
City earned a dramatic final day 3-2 win against Villa to win the title. They came back from two goals down. Guardiola clearly wants to avoid such a situation again.
