Premier League have released the list of fixtures for the upcoming 2024-25 season, which begins on Friday, August 16, with Manchester United hosting Fulham at Old Trafford.
The opening game week of the 2024-25 season promises plenty in itself as Chelsea takes on Manchester City at Stamford Bridge. The Blues’ new manager Enzo Maresca takes on his former boss Pep Guardiola.
As per Football Post, Ipswich Town will begin their Premier League campaign against Liverpool at home, who are starting a new era under Arne Slot. Leicester City, meanwhile, will mark their return to the English top flight at home against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday.
Ipswich Town, Brighton, West Ham, Chelsea, and Leicester are all set to begin the 2024-25 campaign with new managers. They will hope to begin on the right note.
Manchester City, meanwhile, are looking to defend their title, having won it a record fourth time in a row last season. Arsenal and Liverpool will look to challenge them again. The Gunners came close two seasons in a row but were unable to cross the final hurdle. Liverpool, meanwhile, drifted away last season towards the end.
Manchester United had their worst-ever Premier League finish in the 2023-24 season (8th) and will look to bounce back next season. They have decided to keep Erik ten Hag and he will be desperate for a major turnaround.
On the other side, Nottingham barely avoided relegation and will look for a major improvement. Brentford and Everton also had disappointing campaigns. Newcomers Leicester City, Ipswich Town, and Southampton will hope to avoid the same fate as the last three promoted teams – Burnley, Luton Town, and Sheffield United.
