Premier League Most Assists: Players with most Assists After Gameweek 21

The Gameweek 21 of the Premier League 2022-23 has ended and the title race is only heating up. Liverpool sit atop the pile with a five-point lead over Manchester City, who have a game in hand. Arsenal and Aston Villa remain in the hunt, level on points with City while Tottenham Hotspur are a further three points behind them.

Some players have been in excellent form this season and created numerous chances for their teams. While goalscorers understandably take the limelight, some players have been excellent at playmaking in the Premier League this season.

On that note, let’s take a look at the players with the most assists after Gameweek 21 of the Premier League 2023-24:

1. Mohamed Salah | Liverpool | 8 Assists

Mohamed Salah continues to lead the assists charts, with eight assists. Moreover, he’s also tied with Erling Haaland at the top of the goalscoring charts with 14 goals.

Evidently, Salah has been a key player for Liverpool in their Premier League title challenge. While they did beat Bournemouth in his absence, the Egyptian could be a big miss in the Reds’ upcoming fixtures.

2. Ollie Watkins | Aston Villa | 8 Assists

Ollie Watkins has been excellent for Aston Villa this season, who surprisingly find themselves engaged in the Premier League title race. The Englishman provided two assists in their recent 3-2 win over Burnley, climbing to the top of the assist charts alongside Salah.

Watkins has also scored nine goals in 21 games.

3. Pedro Neto | Wolves | 7 Assists

Pedro Neto missed around eight league games due to injury and yet, is only one assist behind the leaders in the assist charts. His seven assists came in the first 10 games.

The Portuguese only recently returned to action after recovering from his hamstring injury and will look to add to his tally.

4. Pedro Porro | Tottenham | 7 Assists

Pedro Porro has been in excellent form for Tottenham Hotspur this season. The right-back has been one of main creators in the Spurs side, especially following James Maddison’s injury back in November.

Porro has provided seven assists and has been a big threat from set pieces.

5. Kieran Trippier | Newcastle United | 7 Assists

Another right-back on the list, Kieran Trippier started the season in brilliant fashion. He provided seven assists in his first 16 Premier League games but has gone off the boil since then.

With Newcastle United suffering multiple injury issues, they will hope their captain can find his form back and provide some inspiration.
