Last season’s Premier League Golden Boot winner, Norwegian goal-scoring machine Erling Haaland, who scored a whopping 36 goals in 35 games for Manchester City had once again started this season brilliantly, and was top of the goal-scoring charts once again after game week 15 of the Premier League.
But the Norwegian got injured and hasn’t featured since December. Other players have caught up with the Norwegian at the top of the Premier League Top Goal scorer tally since his injury, and here we look at the top 5 scorers from this 2023/24 season so far:
1. Mohamed Salah | Liverpool | 14 goals
Liverpool’s 31-year-old Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah has found his goalscoring form as he has been the most dominant player in the Premier League with 14 goals scored and 8 assists provided after week 21 of the Premier League. Salah has narrowed the gap with Haaland to draw level since Haaland’s injury.
2. Erling Haaland | Manchester City | 14 goals
The Norwegian forward recorded four separate hat-tricks en route to scoring 36 goals in 35 games last season. Erling Haaland already had one hat-trick to his name this season when he got injured in December. Haaland has scored 14 goals this season so far. The forward also has 4 assists this season.

3. Son Heung-Min | Tottenham Hotspur | 12 goals
Tottenham Hotspur’s South Korean Heung-min Son has been in superb form for Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou, and has scored 12 goals (including a hat-trick in week 4) in 20 games this season. Heung-min Son also has recorded 5 assists to his name this season.
4. Dominic Solanke | Bournemouth | 12 goals
Dominic Solanke scored a hat-trick in week 18 of the EPL and is now on 12 goals from 20 appearances. Solanke has also got an assist to his name as he tries to catch up with Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah at the top of the Golden Boot race.
5. Jarrod Bowen | West Ham United | 11 goals
Conference League forward star, West Ham United’s Jarrod Bowen has been difficult for defenders to deal with in the final third. A goal-scorer and creator, Bowen gives his team a chance in attacking transitions and his great displays have seen him score 11 goals in 19 appearances for the season so far.
