The two European giants will battle out each other in the Champions League semi-final first-leg tie on Wednesday, May 01. This season, both clubs are trending in opposite directions and Dortmund has a great chance to win this tie against PSG who lost the first-leg 1-0 at Signal Iduna Park.

The highly-anticipated fixture has previously been contested only seven times with Dortmund and PSG sharing two wins each. PSG have won the Ligue 1 title this season and will turn their heads in securing their first Champions League trophy. But the French giants have managed to win only three of their last eight matches at home.

Borussia Dortmund, on the other hand, has endured an inconsistent season and has already played PSG twice earlier in the season’s group stages. But they still have a chance for glory in Europe, even though they have been disastrous in domestic competitions. PSG remains without the services of Sergio Rico who’s recovering from his head injury and will return at the start of the 2024/25 campaign. The visitors will also be without Layvin Kurzawa who has been ruled out for four weeks with a back injury whereas Presnel Kimpembe is out for the remainder of the season. Lucas Hernandez sustained an ACL injury in the first leg and may not play again until Jan 2025.

As for Dortmund, several first-team players are currently sidelined with their respective problems. The likes of Ramy Bensebaini, Abdoulaye Kamara, and Julien Duranville will sit out for the remainder of the season. Sebastian Haller should overcome his niggle and make himself available in time for Tuesday.

The French giants are certainly the heavy favorites coming into this fixture even though Dortmund picked up an important 1-0 win over PSG in the first leg. Luis Enrique’s men are on the verge of another Ligue 1 title and cruising their way to the league crown. PSG have already reversed a first-leg deficit against Barcelona in the quarter-finals and this will be Mbappe’s final night on the European stage at Parc des Princes
