Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga has suffered an ankle injury

Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga was substituted in the latter half of the game against Chile at Marseille and looked in serious discomfort in the 44th minute.

Eduardo Camavinga ankle injury is a significant setback for Real Madrid

The 21-year-old midfielder limped heavily and will need to be assessed to know the extent of his knee injury. It is suspected to be an ankle sprain and the Frenchman could miss a few games depending on the seriousness of the injury.

Camavinga picked up a knee injury in the November international break and he had to miss eight games for Real Madrid. A repeat of this situation will cause frustration at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Frenchman has been a crucial player for the Galacticos this season making 32 appearances in all competitions, and providing two assists in the process.

Real Madrid will be welcoming Athletic Bilbao over the weekend before they host Manchester City for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on April 9.

Camavinga earned his 15th cap for Les Blues on Tuesday and is expected to be listed in the summer European squad if he’s deemed fit and available.
