Real Madrid postpone Trent Alexander-Arnold chase in order to sign him for free next summer

Over the past few days, Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid. There have been strong suggestions of Los Blancos keeping an eye on the Englishman’s contract situation at the Anfield based club.

Moreover, there have also been reports of Trent himself being seduced by the idea of joining Real Madrid, with his friendship with Jude Bellingham being a key factor.

According to AS, Real Madrid’s interest in Alexander-Arnold is concrete, but the plan is to sign the Liverpool star for free in 2025. Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez’s contracts expire next summer, which lays down the perfect platform for Real Madrid to bring in Trent as a free signing.

Meanwhile, Liverpool will be devastated to let a homegrown talent of such stature leave for free and it is reported that they will try and tie him down to a medium term deal in order to ensure they are able to charge a hefty transfer fee if indeed Trent displays his desire to leave the club.
