Real Madrid receive major boost ahead of UEFA Super Cup Final 2024

Real Madrid gain a significant advantage before their encounter against Atalanta in the highly anticipated UEFA Super Cup Final. As per reports, the Dutch midfielder of Atalanta, Teun Koopmeiners didn’t take part in training, amid speculated transfer rumours to Serie A rivals Juventus. The attacking midfielder made an excellent 22 goals contributions in a total of 51 appearances across all competitions, last season.

Recently, the 26-year-old was involved in a heated exchange with boss Piero Gasperini, resulting in expulsion from the team’s training. Consequently, the possibility of Koopmeiners being in the Super Cup clash is unlikely. Nevertheless, Atalanta are highly capable of upsetting Los Blancos, considering they defeated Xabi Alonso’s invincible Bayern Leverkusen in the Europa League final.

The La Liga club completed their pre-season in the United States last week and are eagerly waiting to get the 2024-25 campaign underway against the Europa League winner — Atalanta in a Super Cup clash in Warsaw on 14 August, Wednesday. Last season, Los Blancos won their record 36th La Liga title and 15th UEFA Champions League – beating Bundesliga club Dortmund 2-0 in the final at Wembley. 

The Spanish Champions welcomed first-team names like Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe, Fede Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni, Dani Carvajal and Ferland Mendy – to the club’s training facility after missing the pre-season USA tour. The newly arrived Galactico Kylian Mbappe is also expected to make his Real Madrid debut against Atalanta, as Carlo Ancelotti is expected to line up a full-strength side in Poland.
