Richarlison Injury Update: Possible Comeback date to action

Tottenham Hotspur ended Aston Villa’s unbeaten run in an emphatic fashion with a 4-1 win over the visitors. Summer signing Dominic Solanke scored twice as Spurs came from 1-0 down to secure a comfortable three points. But Spurs’ win also provided a worrying update on couple of players after the final whistle. Both Richarlison and Cristian Romero went off injured during the game which isn’t a good sign.

James Maddison’s stoppage-time free-kick ended Villa’s 11-game run in all competitions. Solanke who has not scored since September scored twice in the second half which lifted Ange Postecoglou’s men to seventh in the Premier League table on 16 points.

Will Richarlison face a second spell on the sidelines in the 2024/25 season?

The Brazilian winger rocked an unfortunate injury earlier this season and only returned to first-team action after the international break in October. Richarlison came on a second-half substitute and assisted Dominic Solanke’s second goal in the 79th minute.

Richarlison looked energetic and fiery after coming on but his stay didn’t lasted for long time. The Brazilian star hurt himself while assisting Solanke’s goal and lasted only 27 minutes on the pitch.

After the match all eyes were on Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou who appeared to be disappointed with latest injury of Richarlison.

Postecoglou said: “Richarlison felt his hamstring and Romero got a knock.

“We just have to deal with what we have to deal with. We have guys who can come in and were going to need that.”

On the other hand, Cristian Romero also hurt himself while making a tackle on Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers in the second half and was substituted. Spurs have already lost Micky van de Ven to a hamstring injury who will return after the November international break. With number of injuries increasing in recent days, Postecoglou has a tough task to deal.
