Both had a terrible campaign in the 2023-24 season…
Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford have big decisions to make this summer, wrote David McDonnell for Mirror. While Sancho had a public fallout with manager Erik ten Hag which saw him return to Borussia Dortmund on loan, Rashford endured a highly disappointing campaign with the Red Devils last season.
In 43 games, Rashford managed only eight goals. He came under sharp criticism for his displays and was even dropped from Gareth Southgate’s squad for the UEFA Euro 2024. Having come off a spectacular 30-goal season the year before, Rashford was rewarded with a new contract, but the forward witnessed one of his worst declines right after that.
As for Sancho, a return to Dortmund couldn’t inspire his best form, bagging only thrice in 21 appearances in all competitions. His relationship with Ten Hag has completely broken down, and a future at Old Trafford seems bleak right now. United are willing to sell him for at least half of the £73 million that they bought him from Dortmund for, in 2021.
Manchester United are currently at pre-season and will play Arsenal, Real Betis, and Liverpool in their next three friendlies, before starting their 2024-25 season against Manchester City in the Community Shield on 10 August.
