Spain National Football Team Player Ratings vs France
Goalkeeper
Unai Simon (7.1/10)
Faced multiple shots and sustained French pressure towards the end, but managed his duties quite well on the night.
Defenders
Jesus Navas (7.2/10)
Age is just a number for Navas. He can still deliver the balls for his teammates upfront.
Nacho (6.9/10)
Alongside Laporte, Nacho came up with an impressive performance to help keep Spain the lead towards the end of the game.
Aymeric Laporte (7.3/10)
Led the defence really well, cutting passes and intercepting balls in his box. Best defender for Spain on the night!
Marc Cucurella (6.9/10)
Slowly but surely, Cucurella is getting back to his best and his team can count on him. Nullified multiple French threats from left-back.
Midfielders
Rodri (8/10)
Bossed the midfield with his composure and passing ability, eventually leading to Spain’s sheer domination over the ball.
Fabian Ruiz (8.1/10)
Contributed in both attacking and defending, dictated the ball in the midfield to keep most of the possession in Spain’s favour.
Forwards
Lamine Yamal (9/10)
Finally got his name on the score sheet after providing multiple assists for his teammates since the group stage, and what a way to score! Best player on the pitch by far!
Nico Williams (8.7/10)
Today was a coming-off-age performance from Nico Williams as he proved he is someone that his manager can count on especially in big games.
Dani Olmo (8.8/10)
Started to get his grip on matches since coming on as a substitute in earlier games. Was provided with a start today and didn’t disappoint at all. Scored what proved to be the winning goal of the game!
Alvaro Morata (6.9/10)
When the French put their focus on Morata, it was when the likes of Olmo and Yamal took the chance to score. He invited pressure on to himself to let his teammates thrive.
Substitutions
Dani Vivian (6.8/10)
With his pace and ability, Spain managed to keep the lead and secured a spot in the final.
Mikel Merino (6.6/10)
Was expected to add another goal or at least create more chances against France, but he found it difficult to beat the French defenders.
Mikel Oyarzabal (6.6/10)
Had several attempts to extend the gap for Spain, but his efforts were not enough.
France National Football Team Player Ratings vs Spain
Goalkeeper
Mike Maignan (6.5/10)
Busy defending his goal from the Spain’s relentless shelling, could have done more.
Defenders
Theo Hernandez (6.5/10)
Helped the French attacking force down the flank with his deliveries and penetrations, was decent in defending.
William Saliba (7.1/10)
Solid defending inside the box apart from the fact that his side conceded two goals. Saliba has been one of the best performers throughout Euro 2024.
Dayot Upamecano (6.5/10)
Apart from defending, Upamecano also helped France attack, however, most of his efforts did not succeed.
Jules Kounde (7/10)
Tried hard to break into the opponents’ box, but was intercepted by a determined Spanish defence again and again.
Midfielders
Aurelien Tchouameni (6.5/10)
Delivered passes to create chances and also executed the opportunity for himself, but still couldn’t find the back of the net.
Adrien Rabiot (7/10)
France’s most influential players in the midfield, dictating the ball transition from attacking to defending and vice versa.
N’Golo Kante (6.5/10)
Relentlessly pressured Spain’s offence with his incredible stamina and tackle making ability. Wasn’t enough to help France on the night.
Forwards
Kylian Mbappe (7/10)
Found it difficult to have enough space to provide many threats inside the box. He did however keep the Spanish defence alert to his presence.
Ousmane Dembele (6.5/10)
Actively helped France in their attacking plan, but came up against quite a solid Spanish defence.
Randal Kolo Muani (8/10)
Stunned Spain with his early goal inside 10 minutes of the game. Wasn’t much effective afterwards.
Substitutions
Eduardo Camavinga (6/10)
Tried to contribute to France’s attacking attempts to equalise in the last 30 minutes, but fell short in terms of his own performance.
Antoine Griezmann (6/10)
Truly disappointing when we know what kind of an impact Griezmann can have on games. Was invisible since coming on.
Olivier Giroud (6/10)
Didier Deschamps substitution magic with Giroud did not work in this match as he failed to give France the impact they needed in order to make a comeback in the game.
Bradley Barcola (7/10)
Helped France with transitioning from defence to attack. Was more effective than Ousmane Dembele was for the entirety of the minutes he played.
