The match could have been more dramatic if, Alex Putellas had slotted in the penalty but German goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger came on top to help Germany’s Women’s team secure a bronze medal in Paris Olympics 2024. Giulia Gwinn’s goal in the 64th minute was the sole difference between the two sides.
In the first half, Germany looked brutal in their attack but Spain had the best of the chances, including hitting the crossbar on two occasions. The second half was filled with quiet even until Gwinn went down after a challenge with the keeper, which resulted in a penalty.
