Manchester United and Al-Nassr Eyeing Takefusa Kubo as Real Sociedad Winger Shines in La Liga

Saudi Pro League powerhouse Al-Nassr have reportedly expressed interest in securing the services of Real Sociedad’s dynamic winger, Takefusa Kubo.

This news coincides with reports suggesting that Manchester United, currently under the helm of Erik ten Hag, are closely monitoring the Japanese talent as a potential replacement for Antony, who has faced challenges in leaving a significant impact at Old Trafford.

Kubo, who has been a standout performer in La Liga, showcasing his skills with six goals and four assists in 25 appearances across competitions this season, has caught the attention of Al-Nassr.

Takefusa Kubo Impressive Performances Sparks Transfer Speculations

The Saudi giants are reportedly keen on acquiring the services of the 22-year-old as they aim to bolster their attacking options in the Saudi Pro League.

However, despite interest from Al-Nassr, Kubo has signalled his intention to continue his European journey, suggesting a commitment to stay at Real Sociedad until the conclusion of the current season.

This development aligns with Manchester United’s pursuit of the tricky attacker, as they look to strengthen their attacking prowess, which has faced challenges since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo in November 2022.

While Kubo may not be a prolific goalscorer, his creative abilities and flair could provide a much-needed spark to Manchester United’s underperforming attack.

Notably, the Japanese international left a lasting impression in a UEFA Europa League encounter last season, contributing two key passes and winning two ground duels in a 1-0 victory over Ten Hag’s men.

The Release Clause Valuation of Kubo

Real Sociedad currently holds Kubo under contract for three more years, but both Manchester United and Al-Nassr have the option to trigger his release clause set at €60 million. The significant price tag, however, may pose a challenge for potential suitors.

Takefusa Kubo’s journey has been marked by his move from FC Tokyo to Real Madrid in 2019, subsequently joining Real Sociedad last year. Despite reported interest from Al Hilal in the past, Kubo opted to remain with Real, showcasing his commitment to the club’s project and the opportunity to compete at the highest level.
