PSG star Kylian Mbappe is now into the final months of his contract with the club and his future has been subject to speculation yet again. Reports suggest that the Parisians are ready to offer him a new two-year contract that will see Mbappe earn €70 million per year, but he is keen on a move to La Liga with Real Madrid.
The Spanish giants have been his longest admirers and came agonizingly close to signing him up in 2022 until PSG tied him down to a new bumper contract. Now that his existing terms are coming to an end, Los Blancos have been linked with Mbappe once again.
At 25 years of age, Mbappe knows all too well that this could be his last chance to materialize his dream move to the Santiago Bernabeu. Although the move depends on whether Madrid meets his demands, seems like PSG are preparing themselves for life without him as the Ligue 1 champions have an eye on three possible candidates for Kylian Mbappe’s replacement.
Victor Osimhen
One of the players eyed as a potential replacement for Mbappe is Napoli star Victor Osimhen. He played a key role in their Serie A title last season with 26 goals. However, his form has dropped massively this time around. He’s therefore linked with an exit, and PSG could capitalize on this to bring him to the Parc des Princes.
Rafael Leao
Another ideal replacement for Mbappe could be Rafael Leao. AC Milan’s creative genius is also running down his contract right now. Leao’s terms with the Rossoneri are up in June. So far, there hasn’t been any indication of an extension yet, despite the player insisting last year that he’s keen to stay on.
The 24-year-old is adept at creating scoring opportunities while possessing a keen eye for goal. His proficiency from the dead ball is also well-documented as Leao is the complete package and could be a vital addition to PSG.
Mohamed Salah
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is another player on the list. He was seen as someone who could fill Mbappe’s shoes. Sure, at 31, he is not getting any younger, but the Egyptian ace remains one of the best goalscorers active. The Reds hitman has scored 18 goals in all competitions from 27 appearances this season. His contract with Liverpool ends in 2025, but with Klopp leaving this summer, Salah may also consider a move away. There’s substantial interest from Saudi Arabian clubs, but PSG have the financial might to fend off any bids.
