Tottenham close to signing Chelsea target Antonio Nusa

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly closing in on the signing of Club Brugge winger Antonio Nusa, who has also been linked with a move to Chelsea.

The Norwegian winger is considered one of the top young talents at the age of 18. He has scored six goals and provided four assists in 62 senior appearances across competitions for Club Brugge. He’s completed the most dribbles per 90 (5.1) in the Belgian Pro League so far this season.

According to Belgian newspaper HLN, Tottenham have advanced in their attempts to sign Nusa this January. Club Brugge will demand around €30 million for the talented youngster, whose contract expires in 2027.

Nusa has also attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea. In fact, Chelsea even saw a €30 million bid being rejected by Club Brugge in the summer as the Belgian side were unwilling to part ways with Nusa back then.

Earlier this season, the youngster also spoke about Chelsea’s unsuccessful bid for him, saying:

“I didn’t know about it. I saw there was a lot of stuff on my phone. My phone exploded after the game. Then I wondered what happened. Then I realised.”

“I already knew that it wasn’t going to happen, but then the money came on the table. Then it’s seen in a slightly different way. We had to have another conversation when the money arrived, but we were on the same page, so there was no problem there. I knew what to do anyway, so it was fine.”

While talks between Tottenham and Club Brugge have reportedly advanced, the deal isn’t done yet. Nusa is likely to stay at the Belgian side until the end of the season even if the deal goes through and move to London in the summer.

Spurs have done similar buy and loan back business in recent times with Pape Matar Sarr and Destiny Udogie in recent times, which has paid rich dividends. Meanwhile, Nusa could be their third signing this January after signing Timo Werner (loan) from Bayern Munich and Radu Dragusin from Genoa.
