Tottenham intensify pursuit of Club Brugge wonderkid Antonio Nusa

Tottenham Hotspur are intensifying their pursuit of Club Brugge wonderkid Antonio Nusa amid interest from Newcastle United.

This is as per reports from Fabrizio Romano, who has added that the player is unlikely to move in January. However, a deal in the summer transfer window remains a possibility.

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou is targeting young attackers with one eye on the future. Heung-min Son is 31, and 18-year-old Antonio Nusa could be the ideal long-term replacement for him.

Nusa came through the ranks at Norwegian club Stabaek, before signing for Club Brugge in 2021. He has since made 63 appearances for the Belgian club, scoring seven goals and providing four assists. The youngster can play in all positions in a front three but displays his best attributes when deployed in wide areas. Blessed with raw pace and trickery, Nusa can be a handful for defenders.

Seeing his talent, Norway national team manager Stale Solbakken called him up to the senior team for a friendly in 2023. Antonio Nusa debuted in that game against Jordan and even grabbed a goal to add the icing on the cake. He has made a total of four appearances for Norway, scoring once and providing four assists.

Considering a player of his calibre is slowing beginning to develop and show the world his abilities, several clubs are circling around with interest. Along with Tottenham, Premier League rivals Newcastle are monitoring Antonio Nusa. However, Club Brugge are likely to demand a considerable fee for their prized possession in the summer.

Brugge are currently fourth in the Belgian Pro League with 37 points, 14 adrift of leaders Union Saint-Gilloise. However, they have made it to the knockout stages of the Europa Conference League and could make a deep run into the competition. Manager Ronny Delia will be glad his compatriot Nusa has committed to the club until at least this season ends.
