Key moment:

Merih Demiral will make the headlines for his goals, but it is Mert Günok’s save at the very end of the match that got Turkey the win. The goalkeeper had no right to save that header from Christoph Baumgartner from inside the six-yard box, but he managed to push it out for a corner.

Player of the Match:

Merih Demiral is undoubtedly the man of the match today for his goals and then his heroics in defense. There was nothing wrong with his performance in the entire game and he was simply too good for Austria.

Conclusion:

Another blockbuster clash finishes in the Euro 2024 round of 16 and Turkey have sent Austria packing. They are now set to travel to Berlin to face the Netherlands in the quarterfinals at the Olympiastadion.
