Watford vs Sunderland Preview

With only seven points off the relegation zone, Watford are looking for an ending for their six winless streak in the league when hosting Sunderland this weekend. The Hornets had a major boost prior to this match as Tom Cleverley just signed a permanent deal as a manager.

As his future with the club is secured, Cleverley could turn his focus fully on how to improve Watford’s performance for the rest of the season. Since taking an interim position last month, the former Manchester United prodigy has guided the team to four clean sheets in seven league games.

Sunderland on the other hand, are not in a better run anyway after only winning once in the last five fixtures, losing twice as well. The Black Cats are three points ahead of Watford on the table, sitting13th with Swansea City lurking below.

Watford
Kwadwo Baah remained as the only Watford’s injured player, being away from the pitch since January due to a hamstring injury. Ryan Porteous, Jake Livermore, and Francisco Sierralta are all fit but in a risk of suspension following their cards record in the previous matches.
