Chelsea demolished their city rivals West Ham United with a 3-0 scoreline in the highly anticipated London derby at the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon clash in the Premier League 2024-25. 

The Hammers led by Julen Lopetegui endured a third successive home defeat for the first time in their history. While Enzo Maresca and company secured the third win on the run and now have 10 points in their hands. 

Goals from Nicholas Jackson and Cole Palmer ensured an important victory, Jackson in particular displayed an exhilarating performance to silence the doubters. On the other hand, The Blues also managed to keep a clean sheet in an impressive Premier League victory.

Alphonso Areola – 5.5: A disappointing performance from the French keeper conceded two goals sloppily. He could have done better up against Jackson, though made some key saves. 

Defenders 

Mavropanos Konstantinos – 5: Poor in terms of defensive solidity, but made some essential clearances and blocks. 

Edson Álvarez – 4.5: The worst performer of the match, his laziness to hold off Jackson cost the goal, though remains solid in aerial duels.  

Maximilian Kilman – 5.5: Kilman was probably the only one with few accurate long balls and made 9 recoveries in the backline. 

Midfielders 

Arron Wan-Bissaka – 5: He was decent in going forward as a Right-wing back on right, but failed to create any significant threat with his crosses 

Guido Rodríguez – 5.5: A match to forget for the midfielder, was sacrificed early in the game to bring Thomas Soucek in the midfielder to provide more solidity.

Lucas Paquetá – 6: The Brazilian midfielder tried hard to cause problems with his creativity, but lacked clinicalness. 

Emerson Palmieri – 5.5: Failed to prevent Chelsea attacks from the right hand and made a couple of crosses providing no support to Summerville.

Forward 

Mohammed Kudus – 6: Kudus was the only promising attacker for the Hammers and was able to get behind the defence several times but received not much support. 

Jarred Bowen – 6: Bowen’s movement was restricted in front goal by Chelsea’s aggressive defence with two shots on target and as many successful dribbles. 

Crysencio Summerville – 6.5: An impressive outing in his first-ever start for West Ham and looked promising with his dribbles and explosive runs but lacked an end product.

Robert Sánchez 7.5: An outstanding goalkeeping display from Sanchez making 7 key saves and was comfortable with his feet in rotating passes. 

Defenders 

Wesley Fofana – 7: Played at the Right back, shifting from his primarily centre-back position, and must say he did quite well in a temporary role.

Tosin Adarabioyo – 7.5: Impressive outing from the centre-back remained solid at the back, and did not shy away from making contributions in attacks. 

Levi Collwill – 7: He was excellent in clearing any danger inside the box with numerous clearances and prevented the likes of Bowen and Kudus from causing any major problems. 

Marc Cucurella – 7.5: He looked comfortable on the left side of the defence, constantly moving around the pitch to maintain the flow of the game. Apart from the yellow card offence, he was solid in defence as well.

Midfielders 

Moisés Caicedo – 7.5: Superb with his defensive contributions as a pivot and was equally involved in the build-ups by providing the assist and making 8 passes into the final third.

Enzo Fernández – 7: Captain of Chelsea, he played more deeper role which gave Caicedo more freedom to move into more advanced areas.

Cole Palmer – 7.5: Scored the third for Chelsea making an excellent run through the left and firing a shot to beat Areola on a ball laid off by Jackson. 

Jadon Sancho – 7.5: Earned his first start for Chelsea after creating winners in a previous outing. Impressive on the left flank with his pace & trickery troubled the West Ham defence — created two chances and provided an assist, combined well with Jackson upfront. 

Noni Madueke – 7: One of the standout performers for the club this season, He looked sharp and threatening with his attacking runs however, missed opening his goal account. 

Forward 

Nicholas Jackson – 8.5: The striker had a standout performance with an assist and netted a spectacular brace with two brilliant finishes following great runs into the box after receiving a perfect pass from Sancho and Caicedo respectively.
