Oscar dos Santos or also known as just Oscar, will have his contract expired this November with the China-based team Shanghai Port. The Brazilian attacking midfielder who spent most of his prime age in China Super League, is now linked with numerous European clubs as his next destination.
Internacional wants to bring Oscar home
With moving back to Europe might not be impossible, there is one club standing up for his signature, Internacional. The Porto Alegre-side, which is also the player’s former club before joining Chelsea, currently expressed their desire for Oscar through their manager Eduardo Coudet.
“Our only goal, the player we are going to try moving forward, is Oscar,” he said via Tribal Football. “I want to bring in Oscar. I’ve already spoken to his manager, he can’t stand me anymore I want Oscar. The board ask me not to talk, but sometimes I talk too much.”

Oscar shocked the world in 2017
Oscar’s journey in China began in 2017 when he shocked the whole world by accepting a lucrative offer from Shanghai (thenSIPG). Chelsea made €25 million profit by selling him for €60 million, after buying him for only €35 million five years earlier. It was The Blues former manager Andre Villas-Boas, the then SIPG then manager, who wanted him to come to China.
“The fact that Oscar has signed for Shanghai means a lot for Chinese football,” Villas-Boas told DSP magazine upon the player’s arrival. “He’s a player that joins the Chinese Super League at the age of 25. It means he’s at his full potential and had options to go to big clubs.”
During his time with SIPG, Oscar has participated in 210 games with 61 goals. He also became the title-winning squad twice in 2018 and 2023. With his contract expiring in eleven months, Oscar is believed to find another challenge.
