Manchester United Star Raphael Varane States His Concussion Problems

The Premier League outfit Manchester United’s defender Raphael Varane recently asserted his struggles with concussion problems.

Raphael Varane Reveals Concussion Issues

As a defender, Varane has to use a lot of his heading ability during the tenure of a match. Whether defending against the opposition’s crosses aimed towards his box or going up the pitch and indulging in his own side’s set-piece situations.

As reported by ‘Mail Sport’, Varane had to pull himself out of a Manchester United match after indulging in quite a few headers in the game. He also dwelled on one of his worst performances that came against Manchester City in the past revealing that he suffered a head injury blow before that game.

“I felt it from the warm-up. I said to myself ‘wake up’. I couldn’t concentrate on staying in my match. I was like a spectator”.

He further attributed the fact that the game turned out to be a bad one for him in terms of performance, and he realized that it was attached to the “shock” (head injury) he went through.

Raphael Varane was substituted at half-time during Man United’s away-from-home fixture against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium in London. The Red Devils played quite poorly on the day and were lucky to leave with a point in a rather scratchy 1-1 draw. However, Varane’s absence during the second half came across as a major concern for the United fans.

Another United player Victor Lindelof was also substituted in the second half by Erik ten Hag as Lisandro Martinez replaced him. Regarding Raphael Varane’s and Lindelof’s substitution ten Hag reportedly stated –

“Rapha we took him off as a precaution at half-time and Victor he came off but we have to assess him tomorrow.”

It remains to be seen what further reports regarding Raphael Varane may come out from the Red Devils’ hierarchy as they approach their next Premier League game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge to be held on March 4.
